Armed Forces Communications & Electronic Association Educational Foundation (AFCEA)
Many of AFCEA’s chapters provide scholarships, grants and tuition assistance for aspiring engineers, technicians, programmers, military personnel and government officials. Financial assistance is made available for students living or attending school within each chapter’s local community.
Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship
The Army Women’s Foundation recognizes the importance of education and the role it plays in personal, professional and economic fulfillment. The Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program provides grants to women soldiers, past and present, and their lineal descendants to help them attain their educational goals. The Legacy Scholarship Program offers financial support in four areas: Certificate programs, Community College coursework, Undergraduate Degrees and Graduate Degrees. Scholarships are awarded only for coursework from accredited institutions. Scholarships are based on merit, academic potential, community service, letters of recommendation and need.
Allied Van Lines
Annually, two recipients will be awarded $1,000 towards their education. This scholarships is for military logistics/supply chain management and operational management majors as well as an equivalent majors such as business, business operational management and other like majors.
The American Legion
The American Legion offers a number of scholarships and other resources to assist young people in their pursuit of higher education. There are opportunities for everyone, including kin of wartime veterans and participants in Legion programs.
American Legion Legacy Scholarship
Provides college scholarships for surviving children of post 9/11 service members who died on active duty or post 9/11 veterans who have a combined VA disability rating of 50% or greater.
AMVETS National Service Foundation
Annually awards scholarships to veterans/active military, their sons, daughters or grandchildren. A son, daughter, or grandchild of a deceased veteran is also eligible. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and financial need, the scholarships go to deserving high school seniors, high school JROTC students and veterans pursuing a higher education.
Blinded Veterans Association (BVA)
Spouses, dependent children and grandchildren of blinded veterans are eligible for the annual Kathern F. Gruber Scholarships and Thomas H. Miller Scholarship to assist them with their higher education tuition. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit through an application process that is evaluated by a committee. Gruber and Miller scholarships are for one year only but recipients can re-apply and receive the award up to four times. The blinded veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse or child to receive a scholarship. Qualifications for both programs are the same except for an added emphasis on music and fine arts for the Miller award.
Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund
The spouse and children of members of the Navy who had the title of Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer are eligible for this scholarship. The organization offers 60 scholarships of $2,000 for tuition and fees. The applicants must be enrolled in a U.S institution and submit three letters of recommendation.
Children of Fallen Patriots
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation provides college scholarships to the children of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who died in combat or in training. Scholarships awarded based on need and intended to supplement other public and private sources of funding to cover tuition, room and board, or books at any accredited college or university. Amounts based on individual needs and available funding.
Council of College and Military Education (CCME)
As a member institution of the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME), students are eligible for generous scholarships to assist with their educational endeavors. CCME offers fifteen (15) $1,000 scholarships each year to United States Service members (active duty/veterans) and spouses of Service members who are working toward the completion of higher education degrees.
Daughters of the Cincinnati Scholarship
Daughters of the Cincinnati Scholarship applicants must be high school senior and daughter of a career officer commissioned in the regular Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marine Corp (active, retired, or deceased). When requesting application, provide: year in high school, qualifying parent’s rank and branch of service.
Deana and Paul Strunk Military Veterans Scholarship Program
Requirements include active U.S. military service members (including National Guard and Reserve) and veteran members who have been honorably discharged from active service and are entering or re-entering a post-secondary undergraduate geoscience program, full time or part time, at a four-year accredited college or university.
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Auxiliary supports the National Education Loan Fund which provides interest-free loans to life members of the DAV Auxiliary who are furthering their education at a college, university, or vocational school. The organization has developed an education scholarship program for life members of the DAV Auxiliary who are continuing their education at a college, university, or vocational school.
Florida Advisory Counsel Military Education (ACME)
The Florida ACME proudly recognizes our military members and veterans with $1,000 scholarship opportunities in three different categories annually.
Folds of Honor
The Higher Education Scholarship program was established to provide post-secondary scholarship assistance for spouses and dependents of our nation’s service members.
Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund
The Fund has awarded scholarships to sons and daughters of American heroes in the last several years. The Fund honors the bravery and dedication exhibited by Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships to their children. Applicant must be a high school senior, a high school graduate, or enrolled in an institution of higher learning, including colleges, universities, or vocational schools.
Hill and Ponton Scholarships
The disability attorneys at Hill and Ponton are honored to represent veterans. To give back even more, they are now offering four $1,000 scholarships to help veterans further their education and enter a career field that would, in turn, help other veterans.
Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship
Spouses of those who are on active duty or veterans can get up to $5,000 in scholarship to get an undergraduate, graduate, or vocational training degree. They must provide military status of their spouses and a valid marriage certificate.
Major Lucas Gruenther Legacy Foundation
This scholarship is open to an individual who has lost a family member who served in our country’s Armed Forces.
Military Order of the Purple Heart
The Purple Heart Scholarship Program is a competitive scholarship program that awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children and grandchildren each year.
MOAA Scholarship Fund
The MOAA Scholarship Fund provides interest free loans, scholarships and grants to students seeking their first undergraduate degree.
National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES)
The National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES) is honored to offer five cash scholarships annually to celebrate academic achievements of military students in the Armed Forces Voluntary Education programs. The Student Spotlight Award is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their academic achievement to the military and civilian educational community through an exploration of how the academic experience has influenced their military career.
National Call to Service
This scholarship is available to those who have been on duty for 3 or more years. It covers either tuition fees of up to $5,000 or loan repayment benefits of up to $18,000.
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Education Grants
Military members or veterans who want to pursue a career in counseling can take advantage of this scholarship. It offers up to $3,000 in tuition assistance to attend graduate school in an accredited institution. This scholarship requires you to prove military status and financial need.
No Greater Sacrifice
No Greater Sacrifice (NGS) is dedicated to the children of our nation’s fallen and wounded Service members (post 9/11/01) by delivering scholarships and resources to improve their quality of life through the pursuit of higher education. NGS defines “higher education” as advanced learning through a bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree from an approved institution or certificate from a trade school.
North American Van Lines
North American Van Lines is proud for the opportunity to offer our first ever Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship to qualifying current or former active duty military and their dependents. Pat Tillman Scholarships
Founded in 2004, the Pat Tillman Foundation invests in military veterans and their spouses through educational scholarships – building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others. The scholars chosen show extraordinary academic and leadership potential, a true sense of vocation and a deep commitment to create positive change through their work in the fields of medicine, law, business, education and the arts.
Patriot Legacy Fund
This scholarship is for dependents, 23 or under, with a VA disability rating of 10% or more.
Premier Nursing Academy
If you’re a veteran or family member of a veteran or deceased military member who plans on attending a CNA program or continuing your nursing education, you may be worried about covering your daily expenses and your tuition. There are many scholarships available for people in your situation. While Premier Nursing Academy is tuition-free, some money is available to cover other school-related or living costs. If you plan to continue your education after completing school at Premier Nursing Academy, many of the scholarships below may apply to you as well.
Red River Fighter Pilots Association
Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association administers a scholarship made annually to enrolled eligible students, of accredited colleges, universities, technical schools and career institutions.
Scholarships for U.S. Army Veterans

Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF)
Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) provides college educations to surviving children of fallen Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in combat or training. SOWF provides for, or identifies funding, to cover the full costs of a public college education: tuition, fees, room, board, books and supplies. Scholarships offered are all grants, not loans, and can be used in private universities, state or community colleges and vocational-technical training and career institutions.
Thanks USA
Thanks USA® Scholarship Program plans to award 500 scholarships to dependent children, age 24 and under, and spouses of active-duty U.S. military service personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard). Recipients are selected based on financial need; academic record; demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities; and a goal statement. Preference will be given to children or spouses of service personnel killed or injured during active duty
The Folded Flag Foundation
Eligible recipients must be the spouse (all ages) or child (under the age of 26) of a U.S. Military or Government member or employee who died as a result of hostile action or accident related to U.S. combat operations.
US Veterans Magazine Scholarship
Scholarship for Active Duty or Veteran of any branch of service including the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army National Guard. This scholarship is for undergraduate students attending a 2 or 4-year college or university. Student must be 18-years old.
Veterans Make Great STEM Teachers
Veterans who are currently enrolled as students pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree as a Technology and Engineering teacher are encouraged to apply. This program serves to honor those who have served our country and are now committed to serving/teaching our students. CNC Mastercam is sponsoring (2) scholarships for this new program.
Veterans of Foreign Wars
The VFW and one of its major supporters, Sport Clips Haircuts, have again partnered to help our veterans and their families. The VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” will provide service members and veterans with the financial assistance they need to complete their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It’s just another way to say “thank you” to those who deserve it the most.
Veterans United Foundation Scholarship
The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship creates opportunities for family members of service members and Veterans to achieve their educational dreams. The scholarship program, launched in 2012, is funded by contributions from Veterans United Home Loans and its employees. The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship will be awarding up to 10 one-time scholarships for up to $50,000 for this upcoming semester.
Veteran Hero Scholarship
Must be a retired, honorably discharged or active duty service member of the U.S. military or have a family member of such service. Please note: Nontraditional students are encouraged to apply.
War Veteran Scholarship
Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to: 1) Persons on active duty in the uniformed military services. 2) Honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel) of the Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom Operations (years 2004-present)
General Arbin F. Irzyk Veteran Scholarship
The Berkman Foundation awards multiple scholarships to deserving student veterans who have served on active duty in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces honorably. One of the veteran recipients each year receives the $2,000 scholarship.
Allied Van Lines Military Scholarship
Allied Van Lines offers scholarships to current or former active duty military and their dependents majoring in logistics, supply chain management, operational management or similar fields of study.
